Not necessarily, you need to make sure that the servicing is done correctly and that the flu remains clear i.e. no birds nest etc. Appliances can break down between servicing so the best advice is to supplement the servicing by fitting a CO Detector and in this way you will have done everything possible to ensure yours and your families safety.

Only if it gives a low level warning. Insist on a Detector with a low level alarm. To be safe ensure that your detector or alarm meets the UL standard in the USA, or the EN standard in Europe, countries outside these regions will have their own standards but generally speaking should already comply to one of the above standards. If in any doubt at all, consult the manufacturer or look in the instruction manual of the device.
