When pursuing a personal injury claim the defending side will do what is called discovery. The discovery is to determine any pre- existing injuries, medical history, criminal past and many other things. We know that people who have been injured by carbon monoxide have good and bad days but even the good days are not as good as they used to be, it’s a comparative thing. So if on your face book profile you wrote “I am felling 100% better today” after having a comparative bad day the day before, the defending insurance company may discover this. Think about it? You are not actually 100% better you are just much better than yesterday. Yesterday you were not even capable of turning on your computer. Guess what? The defending insurance company doesn’t care how you were feeling yesterday they just see what they want to see and you have said "I feel 100% better" and your lawyer is going to have a hard time defending what you have said. Going even deeper than that, the insurance company acting like "big brother" through face book, can see an innocent posting like "had a great day out yesterday with my family." It may have been the only day out you had all year but it’s up there for the whole world to see, for good or bad.
Facebook can be a great way of communicating with people about how you feel and an inexpensive way of keeping in touch with fiends and family at a distance. However remember that you are not just communicating with the people you want to speak to but to those you very definitely do not. Beware Facebook Users.
