Hello. I was exposed for a long period of time to carbon monoxide through a faulty fireplace 1994 thru April 1996. The landlord failed to maintain the fireplace as law required. Had he done so, the problem would have been discovered.

I am writing to alert everyone to the 2004 findings of Professor and Researcher Stephen Thom at the Philadelphia School of Medicine. I discovered his research regarding carbon monoxide and auto immune illness being triggered by toxins, carbon monoxide.

I bestowed every symptom that one could have. It effected me personally and professionally. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in August of 1999. Three years after the exposure. I did not put carbon monoxide and multiple sclerosis together and received a not possible answer from the neurologists. I asked every neurologist I met if there was a possibility that exposure could cause MS.

It was a gut feeling I had that it did trigger the MS. I searched the family tree back to my greatest of great grandfathers Marco Polo.

I discovered Dr. Thom's research in September of this year of 2005. I have an attorney that specializes in brain trauma and she is a God send because she understands the cognitive difficulty I have with this. My 3 year statute started in September of this year due to the research discovery made in 2004.

Why I am sharing this is to bring an awareness to the fact that toxins have proven themselves to be the trigger to auto immune illnesses. I have MS and serious rheumatoid arthritis. I just turned fifty and I live the life of an aged woman. Being a recognized wildlife artist nationally  was taken from me by carbon monoxide as I lost the talent of visualization. Look into your health issues if you have been exposed to any type of toxin. Most if not all people that have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity have illnesses from cancer to MS.
